About BUILT:
From the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Marked Men
books comes an electrifying new spin-off series,Saints of Denver, featuring all the characters fans have
been dying to read about.
Sayer Cole and Zeb Fuller couldn’t be more different. She’s country club and fine-dining, he’s cell-block
and sawdust. Sayer spends her days in litigation, while Zeb spends his working with his hands. She’s
French silk, he’s all denim and flannel.
Zeb’s wanted the stunning blonde since the moment he laid eyes on her. It doesn't matter how many
smooth moves he makes, the reserved lawyer seems determinedly oblivious to his interest—either that
or she doesn't return it.
Sayer is certain the rough, hard, hot-as-hell Zeb could never want someone as
closed off and restrained as she is, which is a shame because something tells her he might be the guy to
finally melt her icy exterior.
But just as things start to heat up, Zeb is blindsided by a life altering moment from his past. He needs
Sayer’s professional help to right a wrong and to save more than himself. He can’t risk what’s at stake
just because his attraction to Sayer feels all consuming. But as these opposites dig in for the fight of their
lives, battling together to save a family, the steam created when fire and ice collide can no longer be
ignored.
MY REVIEW
Jay
Crownover knows how to write a winner, and Built continues this streak.
As much as I loved the Marked Men series, the first in the Saints of Denver
series is just as amazing. Sayer Cole is related to one of the Marked Men and
looking to rebuild her house, while Zeb Fuller is just the man for the job.
This is a story of opposites attract, and boy do sparks fly when they get
together.
Zeb
is one who owns up to his mistakes, and makes no apologies for who he is. He breathes
new life into Sayer, helping her rebuild more than her house. Sayer is your
atypical heroine, having grown up in a difficult household. Ms. Crownover was
able to make me love someone who would normally be seen as cold. The writing is
flawless, the storyline original, and the introduction of new characters to
love in the magical world Jay Crownover creates with every new story.
EXCERPT
It
was late.
I
was really tired.
I
had a full day at work tomorrow and I needed to be up early enough so I could
swing by the gym before I went into my office.
I
had also agreed to have drinks with a fellow attorney after my final court
appearance of the day. It was a semidate I had already rescheduled twice, so I
couldn’t reasonably back out again without looking like a complete jerk. Doing
any of that on a few hours of sleep was less than ideal, but I was getting used
to running on fumes lately. I, too, was having dreams that woke me up in the
middle of the night, that left me shaken, heated, and too wound up to stay in
bed.
Only
my dreams weren’t terror inducing—they were good. Oh, so fucking good. They
were better than good. They were the best dreams I had ever had. Hell, the dreams
were better than any kind of actual sexual experience I had ever had while
wide-awake. They were the kind of dreams that had me jerking up from a dead
sleep while I panted and sweated. I woke up twisting in my sheets and touching myself
because the man that starred in each and every single one of them was nowhere
around.
Control
was everything to me, and Zeb Fuller made me want to lose it even when he was
sound asleep in his own bed all the way across Denver.
