MY REVIEW

Power Play by Lynda Aicher is a great friends with benefits book about two hockey players, Dylan Rylie and Samantha Yates. Dylan is currently playing in the NHL, a dream Samantha always wanted but was unable to accomplish because she is a woman. While she struggles with her new normal she is also trying to navigate her relationship with Dylan, who helps her heat up the sheets on a regular basis.

Dylan was a pure alpha, and he was so take charge throughout this situation. Despite all this, he still had a soft side, and was able to protect Samantha and really show her there is life beyond playing in the NHL. I liked Samantha, I felt like she was a strong, independent woman, which was why it was really frustrating at times to see her fixate on the one goal she couldn’t have as opposed to appreciating what she had accomplished. Despite all this, she does get it together in the end, and I loved watching this play out between those two. Good story, and I can’t wait to read the next one!
