FACE OFF AT THE ALTER BY TONI ALEO COVER REVEAL!

AP new - buy the book.jpg

Coming December 26th

Markus Reeves is sucking. Big-time. Toiling away on a minor-league hockey team hundreds of miles away from home, he's watching his dreams of an NHL career fade away. Add in the lingering guilt he has over the dramatic demise of his relationship with college girlfriend, Mekena, and he's a mess on and off the ice.

But the family of his heart, the Sinclairs, won't let Markus suffer any longer. When he arrives himself back in Nashville for a trial run on the Assassins, it feels like his life may be making a turn for the better. If only he could get Mekena to forgive him...

Mekena Preston has been hurting since fleeing Nashville following the horror of Markus's betrayal with her sister. Now a professional photographer, Mekena finds herself in the same place at the same time with Markus to celebrate Lucy and Benji Paxton's wedding. Neither of them has been able to move on—and they're starting to wonder if they really want to.

They're headed for a face-off at the altar unless they can confront their past and unearth the truth about what really happened on that fateful night.

My name is Toni Aleo and I’m a total dork.
I am a wife, mother of two and a bulldog, and also a hopeless romantic.
I am the biggest Shea Weber fan ever, and can be found during hockey season with my nose pressed against the Bridgestone Arena’s glass, watching my Nashville Predators play!
When my nose isn’t pressed against the glass, I enjoy going to my husband and son’s hockey games, my daughter’s dance competition, hanging with my best friends, taking pictures, scrapbooking, and reading the latest romance novel.
I have a slight Disney and Harry Potter obsession, I love things that sparkle, I love the color pink, I might have been a Disney Princess in a past life… probably Belle.
… and did I mention I love hockey?

  lucy-01
Lucy Sinclair was no stranger to pain.
She grew up with three younger brothers, met a bad boy, got pregnant by him, married him, and then suffered through a nasty divorce from him. Pain. That was pain. To top it off, she even had to go through the heartbreaking divorce of her parents. Through it all, she survived. All she cared about was making sure her daughter was happy and taken care of. Despite an ex-husband hell-bent on ruining her life, she fought to overcome. She’s gotten to the point that she’s okay with being just okay. She never cared about herself because she never had the time. It was Angie and only Angie she focused on, but that all changed when Benji Paxton offered to help her daughter on the ice.
  benji-01
Benji knew the moment he saw Lucy, he’d never be the same. Especially when she came with the bundle of crazy that was her daughter. His heart wasn’t ready for them. After years spent sobering up and finding who he was without the alcohol, he never forgot he was being punished for not appreciating the love he had when he was younger. Because of his past, he had gotten used to being alone, a recluse, but even he had to admit it was getting old. He was lonely. Hockey wasn’t enough anymore. He wanted a family; he wanted his true love, and Lucy and Angie were just that.

MY REVIEW

Toni Aleo scores another winner in Rushing the Goal, which combines her Bellevue Bullies and her Assassins series in one awesome package. Lucy Sinclair is the sister of the leading hockey players on the Bullies team, who have all gone on to play in the NHL, while Benji is one of the leading defensemen for the Assassins. I’ve been waiting to get Lucy’s story, who got the raw deal when her husband got another girl pregnant and ditched her. She’s been through it all, and it’s a wonder she and her daughter Angie are still smiling throughout everything they’ve been through.

Benji is a tortured hero, a guy who’s gone through the loss of his family at a young age, and turned his tragedy into something positive by dealing with his alcoholism head on and maintaining sobriety for over ten years. Both Lucy and Benji are damaged, but together they find strength they didn’t know they had. It was amazing to watch them their growth, and Angie stole my heart as much as she did Benji’s. I love this story, and if you’ve never read a Toni Aleo book you need to, because if not you are seriously missing out!

OVERTIME BLOG TOUR AND REVIEW

Overtime by Toni Aleo
Series: Assassins Series #7
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Down and out with an injury keeping him away from the game, Assassins’ defenseman Jordie Thomas lives for the blades of his skates on the ice and the feeling of oblivion off it. With no choice but to heal, he’s forced away from the sport that runs through his veins. With everything at stake and darkness setting in, he quickly finds himself spiraling even further out of control. As his life begins to come crashing down around him and his contract with the Nashville Assassins on the line, he’s given an ultimatum. Ready or not, Jordie is forced to face his past, the fears that consume him, and the one woman he let walk away.

Kacey King had her professional dreams come true, yet her heart was battered and broken. With an Olympic gold medal around her neck, she’s ready to look forward to the future but without the one man she wanted in it. She’s missing the key pieces of her heart she left months ago with the only person who was capable of destroying it, causing her to falter in all her plans to move on.
>In the game of life, there are winners and losers, and neither Jordie nor Kacey want to be on the losing bench. If only Jordie could convince Kacey he’s a changed man and that he wants her right by his side as his MVP for the biggest and best parts of a life they build together. With emotions running high and the game on the line, can two proud people find happiness with each other, or will their hearts and souls be left in the cold? Will they see that sometimes having someone by your side who knows the good, bad, and broken is better than going it alone and losing everything through the back of the net? They are out of time on the game clock and fighting for the win of their lives.

But overtime was made for an Assassin like Jordie.

MY REVIEW

After I read Jordie’s novella I figured there was no way he’d become redeemable to me. I couldn’t stand him, and thought there was no way he’d be able to earn Kasey’s love. I was wrong. He totally rocked in Overtime, and I loved him in the newest installment of the Assassins’ series. This book can be read as a standalone book, but I do recommend reading the rest of the series because I love it and its well worth the trouble.

We met Jordie and Kasey in Laces and Lace, and their relationship is tumultuous to say the least. To watch Jordie’s transformation was amazing, and I loved the way he strove to protect Kasey and show her he was all in the relationship. Kasey has done a good job of creating a life for herself that doesn’t include Jordie, but it was refreshing to watch their interactions. I truly enjoyed the story, but I felt as though at times they seemed a bit juvenile (like calling each other dorks and their overuse of social media) that I wouldn’t expect of two professionals. It wasn’t enough to really knock the book but it was a bit grating since I’ve seen it in some of her other books. In addition Kasie seemed unable to move beyond her own feelings to see Jordie's disease wasn't about her until it was almost too late. Overall though it was a great addition to the series and I can’t wait for the next one!

NEW YORK TIMES AND USA TODAY BEST SELLING AUTHOR TONI ALEO PRESENTS THE NEXT INSTALLMENT IN THE ASSASSINS SERIES...

LACES AND LACE

Nine years ago, things were perfect. Lacey and Karson had found their happily ever after in each other…or so they thought. How do two people who were meant to be move on from that once-in-a-lifetime love?

Lacey has a strength inside her that comes alive with the things she’s most passionate about. She’s a fighter, a survivor, and has everything she’s ever wanted but the one thing that matters most—love.

Karson is doing the one thing he loves most—playing hockey for the Assassins, yet he knows regret. He knows his life has been missing the one thing he walked away from so many years ago—Lacey.

Nine years later, and neither has been able to succeed in moving on from what was, what could have been, and who each of their hearts still beats for. When a chance encounter during a fateful night has their paths crossing again, will the tether still attaching their souls allow them to face the past, present, and a possible future?

Can two people with fate on their side find a way back to each other? Overcome all the obstacles in their way to finally live life together to the fullest?

Or will they let those around them and the circumstances they face, along with questions and doubt, ruin a second chance at the life they both deserve?

PRAISE FOR LACES AND LACE....

"I feel that Laces & Lace was one of the best books in the series, not only because it revolved around heavy matter, but also because it drug you through emotional turmoil and struggles and it wasn’t happy go lucky easy." ~ Amazon Reviewer: Kris

"Laces and Lace is a story of survival, bravery, and endearing love. A story of when two people collide and life without the other is miserable. After I read the prequel to Laces and Lace I was dying to read the full novel. This story touched my heart and I urge you to go get your copy!" ~ Brittany @ Spare Time Book Blog

"This is such a great read, with more steam than most of Toni's books! And so many laugh out loud moments, seriously - JT needs his own book, and it needs to be amazingly hilarious because I couldn't stop laughing! Overall? Laces and Lace was well worth the wait!!" ~ For Love and Books "Jac"

MY REVIEW

I don’t know how she does it, but Toni Aleo gets better every time!! Laces and Lace is the latest installment of the Assassins series, and tells about Karson and Lacey, whom we met in Tangled in the Laces about a year ago. After splitting ways both Karson and Lacey have become successful in their own right, but each one feels like they are missing their soul mate. A fateful encounter in a Chicago taxi sends these two on a collision course to their own happily ever after.

I loved these two- Lacey is probably one of my favorite heroines. She had the strength and the fortitude to face down cause and win the battle, and she was able to take a horrific experience and turn it into something amazing. If there was one pet peeve I had about Lacey it was that she was too much of a pushover with her dad and Rachel- it got on my nerves, but not enough to detract from the story. And if I could marry Karson myself I would- he was a sexy, sweet, amazing man who just wanted to make sure Lacey was as happy as possible. (Commence swooning). Added with these two were a secondary cast that had me laughing. Mrs. Aleo you have truly created an amazing world of people whom I would love to know- If I could climb in this series and live, I would. 5 AMAZING STARS!!!
